Súil ar aíonna na ceardlainne 2022

Bronnadh Gradam Ceoil TG4, Ceoltoir Óg na Bliana 2021 ar Shorcha Costello. Is ceoltoir traidisiúnta í a sheineann an fidil. Is ón Tulach I gContae an Chláir í agus tagann sí ó clann atá préamhaithe sa cheol traidisiúnta.

Is mar cheoltoir aonair is mó a sheineann sí ach tá baint aici le teacht le chéile ceolmhair eile, ceann acu san mar duet lena máthair Mary MacNamara. Cé go bhfuil stíl fidléireachta Shorcha bainteach go mór le Oirthear an Chláir,bhí tionchar mór ag leithéidí, Frankie Gavin, Brian Rooney agus Tommy Potts uirthi.

Tá sí ag obair mar Teiiapeóir Ceoil cáilithe ach leanann sí lei ag deanamh ceoil agus ag múineadh ceoil.

Awarded with the prestigious Gradam Ceoil TG4 Young Musician of the Year 2021, Sorcha Costello is a traditional Irish fiddle player from Tulla Co. Clare and hails from a family emerged in traditional Irish music.

She performs mainly as a solo artist but is also part of other musical collaborations which includes a duet with her mother, Mary MacNamara. While Sorcha’s style of fiddle playing is rooted in East Clare, she has been strongly influenced by musicians such as Frankie Gavin, Brian Rooney, and Tommy Potts.

She is now practising as a qualified Music Therapist but also continues to perform and teach traditional music.
