Súil ar aíonna na ceardlainne 2021
Is boscadóir ó cheantar Shliabh Luachra é Paudie O Connor. Leanann a stíl traidisiún Shliabh Luachra le tionchair óna leithead de Phádraig Uí Chaoimh, Denis Murphy agus na boscadóirí áitiúla cosúil le Johnny O Leary, Jimmy Doyle agus John Brosnan.
Sa bhliain 2005 sheol sé an ceirnín Different State a roghnaigh ‘The Irish Times’ agus ‘The Irish Echo’ mar rogha na bliana ó thaobh na gceirníní traidisiúnta de. Tá dhá cheirnín eile aige – Wind and Reeds leis an bpíobaire John O Brien agus Didn’t She Dance and Dance a sheol sé lena chéile, an fidléir Aoife Ní Chaoimh.
Seinneann agus múineann sé ag na féilte ceoil ar fud na tíre go rialta – Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy agus The Gathering san áireamh.
Tá roinnt taifead déanta aige do chláracha teilifíse, ina measc HUP, Geantraí agus TradFest TG4. Bhí sé mar láithreoir don chlár Geantraí nuair a taifeadadh é in Oileán Chiarraí sa bhliain 2014.
Paudie O Connor is a box player from Sliabh Luachra who follows the traditional Sliabh Luachra style and was influenced by the likes of Padraig Ó Caoimh,Denis Murphy and by local box players such as Johnny O Leary, Jimmy Doyle and John Brosnan.
In 2005 he launched the record “Different State” which was chosen by the Irish Times and Evening Echo as traditional record of the year. He has two other recordings “Wind and Reeds” with the piper John O Brien and “Didn’t she Dance and Danca with his wife ,the fiddler Aoife Ní Chaoimh.
He regularly plays and performs at various festivals during the year, among them “Scoil Shamhraidh Willie Clancy” and “The Gathering”.
He has done some recordings for television programmes, Hup, Geantraí and Tradfest on TG4 and was also a presenter for the programme “Geantraí” when it was recorded in Castleisland in 2004.
